Happy Earth Day weekend you beautiful earth warriors! I am so proud of the work I see everyday from reusable water bottles to lunches packed in tupperware to saying no to straws! I have a lot of work to do with my own waste management but being surrounded by such inspiring people really helps! So thank you for all you do but keep doing more because our dear earth needs us!

I made a little outline of things that will help you to reduce your waste. These may be things you already do, but it’s good to be reminded of them again, and we can always challenge ourselves to do even better for this beautiful Earth that we live on.

I have also made a beautiful fruity Earth Day smoothie that I wanted to share with you all because it’s delicious, nutritious, green, so simple to make and will satisfy your sweet tooth craving while giving you the energy and goodness to move through your day!

Here’s a little more info on all the ingredients I use… Pure coconut water is full of electrolytes and is wonderful if you’ve been dehydrated. Plant-based protein helps keep cravings away, providing you with optimal protein and other nutrients in an easily digestible manner, reishi mushrooms help with boosting your immune system, fighting infections (really good if you’re around a lot of people often), and also balance blood pressure. This amazing fiber supplement from Utzy Naturals is organic, plant-based, helps regulate bowel movements, promotes healthy cholesterol levels and provides 9 grams of dietary fiber per serving. I love almond butter in my smoothies for the smoothness it provides as well as the added protein of the almonds and the fruit and spinach bring that final flavor into the smoothie! 

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups coconut water (or 1 cup coconut water and one cup water)
  • 1 scoop plant-based protein powder, I’m loving Orgain Organic Vanilla these days!
  • 1 scoop Fiber Food from Utzy Naturals
  • 1/3 tsp reishi mushroom powder, I like this one from Terrasoul 
  • 1 Tbs almond butter
  • 2/3 cup frozen fruit: I used peaches, mango and banana
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 3 ice cubes

Directive:

Combine in a powerful blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy fully, in a glass jar without a straw 😉
